Ugandans Abroad: Okello Steals the Show in Tanzania as Kunihira, Namuleme, Nakaziro ,Nabulime Lift Silverware.

It was another busy weekend for Ugandan professionals plying their trade across the globe, with several players delivering standout performances for their clubs. From Allan Okello’s heroics in Tanzania to Margaret Kunihira and Phionah Nabulime winning major trophies in Kenya and Egypt.

Here’s a rundown

Tanzania
Allan Okello continued his red-hot form for Young Africans SC in the NBC Tanzania Premier League. On Wednesday, the attacking midfielder scored the only goal as Yanga edged KMC 1-0, earning the Man of the Match award for his decisive contribution.

He followed that up on Saturday with another commanding display, netting a brace and providing an assist in a 3-0 thrashing of Coastal Union. Okello was again named Man of the Match, underlining his growing influence at the league leaders.

Elsewhere in Tanzania, Joseph Akandwanaho played the full 90 minutes as TRA United stunned Azam FC 4-1. However, teammates Christopher Tebandeke and Khassim Mugoya were unused substitutes for TRA United on Friday.

Uganda Cranes captain Khalid Aucho also watched from the bench as Singida Black Stars hammered Mbtiwa Sugar 4-0.

Veteran goalkeeper Denis Onyango was an unused substitute as Mamelodi Sundowns FC were involved in a thrilling 7-4 victory over Siwelele.

Kenya
Edward Masembe had a productive week for APS Bomet. He featured on Wednesday as they secured a 1-0 win over KCB, then played again on Sunday in a 2-0 victory against Mathare United.

Mustapha Kizza turned out for Nairobi United FC in their 1-0 win over Tusker FC on Wednesday. In the same game, Denis Iguma featured for Tusker, while Charles Waibi and Titus Ssematimba were not in the matchday squad.

Iguma was in action again on Saturday, helping Tusker defeat Bidco 2-0.

In the FKF Premier League, Bronson Nsubuga was absent as Shabana FC were held to a 0-0 draw by Ulinzi Stars.

Shafiq Batambuze played 77 minutes for Kakamega Homeboyz FC in their 1-0 loss to Muranga.

William Wadri was the star for Bandari, scoring a brace in their 2-2 draw with KCB.

Both James Setuba and Samuel Ssenyonjo started on the bench as AFC Leopards came from behind to beat Mara Sugar 2-1.

In women’s football, Kenya Police Bullets FC were crowned Women’s Premier League champions for a third consecutive season after a 1-0 victory over Trinity Starlet. Ugandan winger Margaret Kunihira scored the only goal to seal the title.

In Tunisia, Travis Mutyaba continued his fine season with CS Sfaxien.

Travis Mutyaba has been involved in seven goals this season in Tunisia.
