Transfers : Joel Madondo Finds New Home
Ugandan international striker Joel Madondo has completed a permanent transfer to Betway Premiership club in South Africa Richards Bay FC from Nsingizini Hotspurs FC.

The deal was finalized after Richards Bay tabled an acceptable offer, with personal terms agreed between the club and the player. Madondo, 27, has made a significant step up in his career, returning to a higher-profile league following previous experience on the continent.
The Ugandan forward has had a notable career, playing for clubs like, Busoga United, BUL FC, and Gaddafi FC in his home country. He gained prominence in Morocco with Wydad Casablanca, rubbing shoulders with Africa’s elite in the Botola Pro and gaining valuable continental exposure. Madondo has represented Uganda at the senior level, earning several caps and showcasing his clinical finishing and physical presence.

He joined Nsingizini Hotspurs in July 2025 and quickly became a key figure in the Eswatini Premier League, helping the champions in both domestic and preseason action.
Nsingizini Hotspurs FC has confirmed the transfer, citing the player’s future as a priority.
“Whilst he will be greatly missed in the Nsingizini family, his future comes first and we are very thankful for his contribution to the success of the club. We wish him all the best in his new challenge and applaud the professional conduct displayed by RICHARDS BAY F.C in the process of the transfer,” the club statement read.

Madondo’s move offers him a platform to rebuild his career in one of the region’s most competitive leagues, with potential for further continental opportunities.
