Okello Brace Fires Young Africans Back to the Top with 3-0 Win Over Singida Black Stars

Young Africans SC delivered a statement performance in the NBC Tanzania Premier League on Sunday, thrashing Singida Black Stars 3-0 to reclaim top spot in the table. Ugandan midfielder Allan Okello was the standout performer, scoring twice and orchestrating much of Yanga’s attacking play to secure a dominant home victory.

Okello opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a perfectly struck free kick that left the Singida goalkeeper stranded and sent the home fans into celebration.

Young Africans doubled their advantage just before halftime when Mudathir Yahya capitalized on a defensive mix-up in the 42nd minute to slot home. Okello then sealed the result and his brace in the 69th minute, finishing off a deflected shot into the far corner after being teed up by Depu.

The win not only secured all three points but also saw Okello named Man of the Match for his influential display. The performance takes his tally to 9 league goals and 7 assists this season for Young Africans in the NBC Tanzania Premier League. He now matches Azam FC’s Faisal Salum for assists, though Salum leads the scoring charts with 12 goals.

The 3-0 result propels Young Africans back to the summit of the league with 57 points from 24 matches, moving two points clear of rivals Simba SC. With the title race intensifying, Yanga’s form and Okello’s consistency could prove decisive in the run-in.
