Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 side CS Sfaxien has completed the signing of Ugandan attacking midfielder Hakim Mutebi, according to reports. The move sees the silky playmaker take the next step in his career in North Africa, where he will line up alongside fellow Ugandan Travis Mutyaba.

Mutebi arrives at CS Sfaxien with a strong reputation built through his performances for both club and country. A former student of St Mary’s Kitende, he first gained wide recognition after being named MVP at the 2023 CECAFA U18 Boys Football Championship in Kenya. He later added to his international pedigree by winning a silver medal with the Uganda Hippos at the 2024 All African Games in Ghana. His time at SC Villa and with the national U20 side showcased his creativity, vision, and composure in the final third.

CS Sfaxien finished third in the 2025-26 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 season with 61 points from 30 matches, securing qualification for next season’s CAF Confederation Cup. The club will be hoping Mutebi’s technical ability and big-game experience can add another dimension to their midfield as they compete both domestically and on the continent.

The transfer continues a growing trend of Ugandan talents moving to North Africa, and Mutebi’s partnership with Mutyaba at Sfaxien will be one to watch for fans back home.
