Four Ugandan Match Officials Appointed For CAF Champions League Match.

Four Ugandan match officials have been appointed to officiate the CAF Champions League match between Power Dynamos FC of Zambia and Rivers United FC of Nigeria on January 24, 2026, at Ndola Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Lucky Razake Kasalirwe, a FIFA referee, will lead the team . Kasalirwe has extensive experience, having officiated international matches last year, including the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match between Mauritania and Togo, and a CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round match between FC De Agosto De Akonibe from Equatorial Guinea and Forester FC from Seychelles .

He’s been on the FIFA International Referees list since 2022 and has over 4 years of experience

Ronald Katenya from Eastern Uganda will serve as the first assistant referee, bringing his expertise from officiating in the African Nations Championship (CHAN). Katenya’s precision and professionalism have earned him recognition.

Victor Miguel Gomes De Freitas, a former FIFA Referee from South Africa, will serve as the match assessor

Power Dynamos FC and Rivers United FC are both winless in Group A after two matches, with Pyramids FC from Egypt and Berkane from Morocco leading the pack with six points each.
