Union Sports Club Hit Legends and Stars 5-0 to Reach Round of 16 as Tik Tok FC Continue to Entertain
In the 2026 Hamz Cup, Union Sports Club made their way as the 13th team into the Round of 16 after a 5-0 win over Legends and Stars, while Tik Tok FC entertained the evening with a 3-0 win over Pirates FC.
In the first game on August 15, Godwin Kawagga scored twice for the Boda Boda men, with his stoppage-time goal coming in the 84th minute while the other was an opener early in the first half.
The other goals were scored by Ayub Mutalya in the 17th minute, while Isaac Kyeyune Haji and Davis Atukunzire both converted from penalties in the second stanza of the game.
The win took Union Sports Club to 6 points. They had to wait for the result from the last game. The awaited moment arrived in style with Tik Tok FC astonishingly beating Pirates FC 3-0 in an entertaining win.
The game started with Tik Tok FC piling pressure on Pirates FC via both flanks, with Farouk Tumwesigye and Aksam Miod, while Athuma Lule stepped up in the absence of Ashiraf Kyakuwa, attacking through the middle third of the pitch for Tik Tok.
Pirates FC regained some nerves to fight for control of the game, but the intelligent play in the Tik Tok FC block, led by young defender Elijah and Mukhtar Mutyaba, weighed back full control of the game until the defining moments arrived.
Silky winger Tumwesigye nodded in a header from Aksam Miod’s corner in the 40th minute to put the Tik Tokers in the lead at halftime. Seven minutes into the second half, another goal went in.
From a direct corner taken by Rogers Mutaawe, Pirates FC’s custodian Isaac Dei, in a blunder, pushed the ball into his own net. Thirteen minutes later, captain Ssebamba Salabwe ‘Mickey’ sealed the win with a fine finish.
After the third goal, the entire last half-hour was dedicated to the fans as the winning team exhibited joking skills, while Pirates FC managed to get into the attacking box on a few occasions. But Uganda U17 international Adrian Mukwanga took the moments to show his presence.
With Tik Tok FC coming into the game already qualified for the next stage, they sealed a perfect record in the group stage, joining Arsenal Fans UG and Kafumbe United.
