Uganda, Tanzania Dominate Beach Soccer at FEASSA Games

Uganda and hosts Tanzania emerged as the dominant forces in Beach Soccer at the 2026 Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Association (FEASSA) Games in Morogoro, Tanzania, sharing all six medals on offer.

Uganda led the medal standings with four medals, including gold in the girls’ competition, two silver medals and a bronze in the boys’ event. Tanzania claimed the boys’ gold and a bronze medal in the girls’ competition.

Uganda’s gold medal was secured by Standard High School Zzana, who produced an impressive performance to defeat fellow Ugandans Sacred Heart Secondary School 6-3 in the girls’ final.

The triumph further underlined Uganda’s strong showing at this year’s FEASSA Games, with the reigning champions continuing to dominate several disciplines.

Uganda has already secured gold medals in Netball, Table Tennis for both boys and girls, Badminton for both boys and girls, Scrabble girls, Tennis boys and Softball girls.

Kenya has also enjoyed a strong campaign, winning gold in Athletics and Cross Country, Rugby Sevens and Fifteens, Hockey for both boys and girls, Scrabble boys and Lacrosse for both boys and girls.

Thursday, August 20, featured action in Swimming, Cricket and Basketball, while a FEASSA Sports Symposium was held at Cate Hotel in Morogoro under the theme, “Sports Talent Development Pathways in East Africa: From School Sport to Regional and Global Excellence.”

With the finals of the 2026 FEASSA Games scheduled for Saturday, August 22, Uganda and Tanzania’s Beach Soccer performances have added another chapter to the growing rivalry and sporting strength between the two East African neighbours.
