The event is expected to attract a high-profile gathering, with the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, Prime Minister of Uganda Hon. Robina Nabanja and other dignitaries expected to attend. Organisers also remain hopeful that His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda will grace the occasion.

Meanwhile, all 18 Masaza athletes reported to camp today and went through a full day of trials and practice as they fine-tuned their preparations for the competition.

Security has also been given special attention. The Kabaka’s Protection Unit, led by Afande Nassimbwa, together with the Police Regional Commander, was at the venue to assess security arrangements and ensure the safety of all participants, dignitaries and revellers expected on Saturday.

Adding to the excitement, teams showcasing some of the prizes up for grabs were also present at the venue. The prizes include boda bodas, smartphones, watches and original Premier League jerseys, with their presence aimed at assuring participants and fans of transparency in the prize-giving process.

Chairperson of the Buganda Royal Regatta Committee, Engineer Ben Misagga, promised revellers a full day of entertainment, with activities expected to begin as early as 7:00 AM.
