Uganda lost the FEASSA trophy honorably to Kenya.

After dominating the last five editions, Uganda saw its magnificent performance streak come to an end after losing the FEASSA overall trophy to Kenya in a highly contested event.

Uganda faced significant struggles with the Uganda Police and the Ministry of Works while traveling to Morogoro, Tanzania, for the 23rd edition of the games organized by the Federation of East Africa Schools Sports Association.

On a mission to defend their title for the sixth time, the team of over 2,000 participants collected a total of 19 gold medals, finishing one behind Kenya, which tallied 20 gold medals, even though Uganda emerged victorious in major events like Boys’ Football and Netball.

Kenya rallied in other sports like Rugby, where they swept the 15s and 7s for both genders, adding more medals from athletics in both track and field, as well as cross-country.

However, Uganda continued to shine in other sports disciplines, such as Girls’ Football, where all representatives managed to finish in the middle bracket.

On road back to Uganda expected this coming week after the team concluded the Zone games, a remarkable number of team members qualified for the Africa Schools Championships, moving closer to the International School Sport Federation championships.
