Maroons FC delivered an emphatic 4-1 victory over Kataka FC at Wankulukuku stadium, piling more pressure on the struggling visitors, who remain rooted in the relegation zone after seven matches in the Uganda Premier League.
The Jailers produced a commanding performance, scoring four goals through Abel M. Eturude, Fred Amaku, Darious Ojok and Jackson Nunda to secure all three points, while Ssenkubunge Latif netted a late consolation for Kataka.

Abel M. Eturude opened the scoring in the 19th minute to give Maroons an early advantage. The hosts maintained their momentum after the break, with Fred Amaku doubling the lead in the 54th minute.
Darious Ojok added a third in the 76th minute before Jackson Nunda extended the advantage further in the 82nd minute, putting the result beyond doubt.
Kataka, under head coach Robert Mukasa, managed to pull one back through Ssenkubunge Latif in the 90+1st minute, but the late strike did little to change the outcome as Maroons comfortably collected the maximum points.

Kataka’s defensive struggles continue
The defeat further exposed Kataka FC’s defensive problems, with the side having conceded 17 goals in seven league matches, the highest tally by any club this season at this stage.
Kataka’s difficult start has left them in 17th position with just two points from seven games, increasing the pressure on head coach Robert Mukasa and his players to turn their fortunes around.
With their defensive record continuing to deteriorate, Kataka will need significant improvement at both ends of the pitch if they are to climb away from the bottom of the standings.
Maroons move to sixth

For Maroons FC, the victory provides an important boost as they continue their campaign under coach Muhammad Ssenfuma.
The Jailers have now accumulated 10 points from seven matches, moving into sixth position on the league table. The four-goal performance also highlights Maroons’ attacking potential as they look to build consistency and maintain their progress in the competition.
Maroons will return to action on 28 October, when they travel to face Entebbe UPPC, hoping to carry their winning momentum into the next fixture.

Kataka, meanwhile, have little time to dwell on the defeat, with a difficult assignment awaiting them against Express FC at Hamz Stadium on 27 October. The encounter presents an opportunity for Mukasa’s men to respond, but their defensive weaknesses will need urgent attention.
With seven matches played, the two sides find themselves on contrasting paths: Maroons are building momentum in the top half of the table, while Kataka face an increasingly difficult task to recover from their disappointing start to the season.
