Maroons & Springs Shine at Soccer Nation Gala

In a thrilling display of young talent, Maroons Soccer Academy and Springs Care emerged champions of the Soccer Nation Gala, held at the Kampala Road playground in Mutungo.
The tournament, organized by Jonathan Wangwanyi, proprietor of Wamu Soccer Academy, brought together 12 teams in the Under 13 category, 15 teams in the Under 11 category, and 10 teams in the Under 9 category.

In the Under 11 category finals, Springs Care emerged champions, defeating Success Soccer Academy 5-4 via penalty shoot-outs after a 1-1 draw in normal time. Individual awards in the Under 11 category went to:
- Topscorer: Muniru (Incredible Soccer Academy)
- MVP: Alpha Ssempereza (Success Soccer Academy)
- Best Goalkeeper: Galila Joshua (Success Soccer Academy)
- Best Coach: Ramathan Ssegujja (Success Soccer Academy)

In the Under 13 category, Maroons Soccer Academy took the top spot, with their team A defeating team B 1-0 courtesy of Okurut Daniel’s lone strike. Individual awards included:
- MVP: Enepu Roy (Maroons Soccer Academy B)
- Topscorer: Daniel Sorondo (Maroons Soccer Academy A)
- Best Goalkeeper: Ayiko Moses (Maroons Soccer Academy A)
- Best Coach: Alfred Wahad (Maroons Soccer Academy A)

The Under 9 category saw all participating teams awarded medals, focusing on fun and development rather than competition.
The Soccer Nation Gala aimed to develop young talent, promote sportsmanship, and provide a platform for kids to showcase their skills. The tournament sought to identify potential stars, build confidence in young players, and support grassroots development, laying the foundation for future generations of players.
