Dudu Bosco Takes Reins at NEC FC as Hussein Mbalangu Faces Two-Month Suspension

NEC FC has appointed Dudu Bosco as their new head coach with immediate effect, following the suspension of Hussein Mbalangu. Mbalangu’s suspension stems from his involvement with Ssingo in the 2025 Masaza Cup, where he served as the team’s technical director.

Under Mbalangu’s guidance, Ssingo had a remarkable run in the tournament, eliminating Bugerere in the semi-finals and booking their spot in the final against Buweekula next month at Hamza Stadium, Nakivubo, on January 1st, 2025.

Meanwhile, NEC FC’s campaign in the Startimes Uganda Premier League has had its ups and downs. After a mixed start to the season, the team drew 1-1 with URA FC in their opening match, with Innocent Media scoring for NEC FC only for the opponents to equalize late.

In their second match against Police FC, NEC FC dominated proceedings, taking a 2-0 lead by the 85th minute. However, they conceded two late goals, resulting in a 2-2 draw.

Bosco’s appointment comes at a crucial time for NEC FC, who will be looking to regroup and refocus under his leadership. The team will need to overcome their defensive frailties and find a way to hold onto leads if they are to make a strong impression in the league.

With Mbalangu’s suspension set to last for two months, Bosco will have the opportunity to stamp his authority on the team and guide them towards success.

Dudu Bosco brings a wealth of experience to NEC FC, having previously served as the head coach of Calvary Midigo and Paidha Black Angels, both representing the West Nile Province. He has also had stints with Al Nasir EC Juba in South Sudan and as the technical director of Onduparaka FC.

Additionally, Bosco has worked as a scout for KCCA FC’s U17 team, further showcasing his versatility and expertise in Ugandan football. With his impressive background, fans are eager to see how Bosco will shape NEC FC’s fortunes in the coming months.
