In a thrilling Uganda Premier League match, UPDF FC shocked BUL FC with a 5-2 away win at the FUFA Technical Centre. The victory sees UPDF FC move up the table, pushing them two places above the relegation zone.

UPDF FC took an early lead in the 7th minute through Emmanuel Ochen, only for Denis Ssewagudde to equalize for BUL FC in the 34th minute. However, UPDF FC’s resurgence was unstoppable, with Ivan Bogere reclaiming the lead five minutes later.

Enrique Lubwama extended the lead in the 45th minute, and Ochen completed his brace in the two added minutes at halftime, making it 4-1 in UPDF FC’s favor.

Faridi Rashidi sealed the win with the fifth goal in the 61st minute. BUL FC’s Onek Hillary scored a second goal in the 92nd minute.

This impressive display sees UPDF FC sitting 12th on the table with 20 points from 24 matches, having moved two places above the relegation zone. It’s a rare feat for UPDF FC to score four goals or more, their last such performance being in 2021 against Tooro United FC (4-2 win). UPDF FC will look to continue their resurgence at home against URA FC on April 24th.

Meanwhile, BUL FC’s struggles continue, having gone four matches without a win. They sit 8th on the table with 31 points from 24 matches and will look to return to winning ways when they face Express FC on April 24th.
