The duo, who recently represented Uganda at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Qatar, is set to join AGF’s U19 team and make a name for themselves in Danish football. Bogere, a 17-year-old striker, had a standout performance at the World Cup, scoring two goals, while Sengooba, a utility player, created about two assists.

Bogere’s impressive form was evident in the CAF U-17 AFCON CECAFA qualifiers, where he topped the scoring charts and led Uganda to the FIFA U17 World Cup. His brace against Gambia in the playoffs was instrumental in securing Uganda’s spot in the global tournament. “I’m extremely happy to sign with AGF,” Bogere says. “It means a lot to me to make my first professional contract.”
He’s looking forward to joining AGF’s U19 team and making a name for himself in Danish football. Bogere’s success is a testament to his hard work and dedication, and he’s eager to continue learning and growing as a player.

El Cambio founder Thomas Thor is thrilled to see Bogere and Sengooba take this step, hoping it will pave the way for other East African talents.
“James is a special player, very dedicated and hardworking,” Thor says. “He’s a role model for our other players.”
Before joining AGF, both players were part of Masaka Sunshine, a third division side in Buganda Region. This is a big opportunity for them to showcase their skills in Danish football and take their careers to the next level.
With their talent, determination, and support, the future looks bright for these young Ugandan footballers.

AGF Aarhus is currently topping the Danish Superliga table with 40 points from 18 games, having won 12, drawn 4, and lost 2. They’re leading the pack with a 4-point advantage over FC Midtjylland.
