Aliro’s Brace Powers URA FC To Maiden Victory

In a thrilling encounter at the Hamz Stadium Nakivubo, URA FC finally registered their first win of the season in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, edging out UPDF FC 3-2.

Moses Aliro struck in the 23rd minute to give URA FC the lead, but UPDF FC’s Samson Kigezi equalized just three minutes later. George Masembe restored URA FC’s lead in the 44th minute, and although Samuel Ssekammatte leveled the scores again after the break, Moses Aliro sealed the win for URA FC with a stunning strike 14 minutes from full time.
This victory marks a significant turnaround for URA FC, who had drawn their first four matches under pressure-bound coach Alex Isabirye. With seven points from five rounds, URA FC now sit fifth on the table, unbeaten in their last match. Moses Aliro’s brace takes him to three goals, just one behind league topscorer Ikamba Bedia of Police FC.

Meanwhile, UPDF FC’s defeat sees them slip to 12th on the table with three points from four matches.
