The StarTimes Uganda Premier League resumed today with a thrilling encounter between Police Football Club and Maroons Football Club at the Kiira Road Arena. The Police Football Club emerged victorious, beating Maroons FC 2-1 in a closely contested match.

The match saw Police FC’s Congolese forward Djumba Ikamba Bedia scoring a brace, netting his side’s first goal in the 17th minute and doubling the lead 11 minutes later. Maroons FC’s Forward Rogers Kiwanuka pulled one back for his side Maroons FC in the 42nd minute, but it was too little .

Maroons FC Midfielder Norman Odipio recieved a second caution in the 58th minute.

This win marks a return to winning ways for Police FC, who had lost their previous match 2-1 to SC Villa. On the other hand, Maroons FC recorded their second loss of the campaign, having drawn goalless with Calvary Midigo FC at home in their previous match.

With this victory, Coach Matia Lule’s side Police Football Club now sit fourth on the table with 8 points after five rounds, while Maroons FC are 11th on board with four points from four matches.
