Buganda Region League Weekend Wrap: Nyendo FC, Masaka City Shine As Buwambo & Simba Boost Their Promotion Push.

It was another action-packed weekend in the Buganda Region League as clubs across the division battled for vital points in the race for promotion and survival.

Nyendo FC produced a convincing performance to claim a 3-1 victory over Uganda Sports Arena. Patrick Busuulwa gave Nyendo the perfect start, striking in the 12th minute to put his side ahead. Lutwama Ali doubled their advantage in the 57th minute with a composed finish, putting Nyendo in full control of the contest. Uganda Sports Arena pulled one back six minutes before stoppage time through Fahim Ssaka, , but any hopes of a comeback were extinguished when Isaac Lubyayi sealed the win for Nyendo FC in the 90th minute.

Elsewhere, Nantabulirwa FC showed great character to come from a goal down and defeat Wobulenzi Football Club 2-1.

Kira United also picked up three important points after defeating Buikwe Red Stars FC. Shafik Nyanzi scored a brace in the 4th and 75th minutes, while Samuel Kisozi added a third to cap off a dominant display.

In a tightly contested encounter, a solitary strike from Swaibu Lubega proved decisive as Synergy FC edged Manyangwa FC 1-0.

Buwambo United also boosted their promotion chances with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Kajjansi United. Benon Vianey Kigenyi fired Buwambo ahead as early as the 6th minute, and Ssekatawa Enock doubled their lead just six minutes later to give them a commanding start. Kajjansi United pushed late and pulled one back through Muhammad Kyeyune in the 87th minute.

The biggest win of the weekend belonged to Masaka City, who thumped Kiboga United 4-1 in a ruthless attacking display. Joseph Enyabu and Meddie Kasule were both in top form, with each player netting a brace to put the result beyond doubt. Kiboga United managed a consolation goal through Taddeo Owingi.

Overall, the weekend’s results have tightened the race at both ends of the Buganda Region League.
