UA Brings In Marketing Experts To Fuel Corporate And Community Reach

Amid the struggle to raise enough funds to run its events, Uganda Athletics has brought in JK Media Agency to secure business partners. The three-year partnership contract was signed and became effective today, August 11, at the Uganda Athletics offices in Kampala.
President of Uganda Athletics, Dominic Otucet, said:
“It is an opportunity to announce this partnership because our budget requires more than 10 billion, while the government provides only three. After long negotiations of over two years, we have handed over to JK Media Agency the responsibility to find partners so that we can raise more funds.”
JK Media Agency Director, Joe Kigozi, expressed optimism about the initiative, saying:

“I am happy that Uganda Athletics has entrusted us with a three-year responsibility to find partners. We hope this will be easier for us because UA has a lot to offer to corporate companies.
After three years of this contract, hopefully, we will see a big change in Uganda Athletics’ business model.”
Uganda Athletics is one of the most successful sports organizations in Uganda, but corporate companies have been hesitant to partner with them.
The Chief Observer at the partnership signing, Milton Chebet, Assistant Secretary General in charge of Technical at the Uganda National Council of Sports, supported the move.

“It is good that Uganda Athletics is bringing in a business manager. As we aim to make sports part of the economy, we need experts like JK Media Agency. This partnership can open doors for companies that have been struggling to find ways of partnering with our sports industry.”
The partnership has started immediately, and Joe Kigozi confirmed that the next step is to present their strategic plan.
