The win means Hakim Kiwanuka, Denis Omedi, and Ronald Ssekiganda have completed a domestic double this season with APR FC, having already secured the league title. Their contribution highlights the growing influence of Ugandan players in Rwandan football, particularly in high-stakes matches.
APR’s victory also strengthened their record as the most successful side in Peace Cup history. This marks their 15th title, with wins in 1995, 1996, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2017, 2025, and 2026. In 12 of those 15 campaigns, APR also won the league, underlining their habit of pairing cup success with domestic dominance.
