Kawooya Acquires Level II Diploma Squash Coaching Certificate
Michael Reymond Kawooya has been awarded a Level II Diploma coaching certificate after completing a course in Budapest, Hungary, in May this year.
The course was conducted by Csaba Altvater. Kawooya attended with support from the Uganda Olympic Committee, Kampala Club Limited, Mogas Oil, other squash entities, and well-wishers.
The course had 10 participants — nine men and one woman. Kawooya became the first Ugandan to participate in and secure the Level II diploma coaching qualification.
He received his certificate on Sunday, July 26. Speaking after, he said: “I am super excited to secure this coaching level. It has not been easy because when we finished the theory part in May, we were tasked with creating work plans for the final practical part, and I am glad that I passed.”
In 2019, Kawooya became the first Ugandan to secure the Level I squash coaching certificate, also earned in Budapest, Hungary. He held that standard alone until last year, when three Ugandans earned the same level in a course held at the Pearl of Africa Hotel in Kampala.
