Two matches were played in the Kampala Region Referees Inter DFA Tournament.

Coach Anna Akoyi’s side Kawempe Referees lost 4-2 to Coach Kalule Michael’s side Rubaga Referees in the match played on wednesday at Kampala Muslim playground.

Ponzious Ozitile netted a brace while Kakudu Frank and Ssekeba Haruna netted a goal each for Rubaga Referees.

Silky winger Lubwama Ivan and agile forward Kafuluma Julius netted a a goal each for Kawempe Referees.

Haruna Ssekeba is currently the leading topscorer with four goals .

Elsewhere at Prisons Playground Luzira .

Hosts Nakawa Referees shared spoils 1-1 with Makindye Referees in the mouthwatering contest.

Captain Ssemakula John Patrick gave the visitors the lead from a spot kick after Nakawa Referees’ defender Mugalu Abdallah Aziz brought down Makindye forward Mbulwaze Blair in the forbidden area and the referee did no mistake other than pointing at the spot.

The free scoring defender Ssemakula John Patrick took his tally to three goals in this year’s campaign.

Few minutes later Simon Tukamushaba equalised for Nakawa DFA. Coach Musoke Peter’s side failed to capitalize on their home advantage as they failed to pick up three maximum points off Makindye despite creating a couple of chances yesterday.

Coach Micheal Kalule’s side Rubaga Referees are currently unbeaten and sit on top of the summit with 7 points from three matches .

Makindye Referees under the Stewardship of coach Faisal Nsubuga are also unbeaten in this particular tournament in the three matches they have played so far .

The tournament is played on home and away basis and the team which will accumulate the most number of points shall be declared as the champions.

According to chairman organizing committee Mark Sonko for FIFA Assistant Referee, the aim of this tournament is to create interactions, keep bodies fit, refreshing on the laws of the game and team building among Kampala Region Referees.

This tournament is expected to be played every year at the end of the Season.
