Rwanda Police Release Ugandan Star Allan Kateregga ‘Dancing Rasta’

Ugandan attacking midfielder Allan Kateregga, popularly known as ‘Dancing Rasta’, is among five players released by Rwanda Premier League side Rwanda Police FC ahead of the new season.
Kateregga joined Rwanda Police during the 2024–25 campaign alongside fellow Ugandans Ashiraf Mandela and Eric Ssenjobe. Despite a short stint, the experienced winger made an immediate impact and played a key role in helping the club lift the Rwanda Super Cup title. His creativity and flair in the final third added a new dimension to Police’s attack during the season.

The club also confirmed the departure of Rwandan forward Byiringiro Lague, Nigerian midfielder David Chimezie, and Burundian pair Henry Msanga and Richard Kirongozi. Rwanda Police ended the 2024–25 Rwanda Premier League season in sixth place with 52 points from 34 matches, and the squad overhaul signals a reset as they target a stronger push next term.
Kateregga brings a wealth of experience across East and Southern Africa. He has previously featured for KCCA FC, Cape Town City, SC Victoria University, and Lupopo, among others.

Kateregga was also part of the Uganda Cranes squad that competed at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, where his trickery and crossing ability earned him the ‘Dancing Rasta’ nickname from fans.
