Rines Edge Boni Consili to Reach FEASSA Girls’ Football Final

Rines Secondary School have booked the first slot in the girls’ football final at the 2026 Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) Games after edging fellow Ugandans Boni Consili Vocational and Secondary School 1-0 on Friday morning at Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro, Tanzania.
The reigning Uganda girls’ football champions survived a spirited challenge from Boni Consili, with defender Patricia Nanyanzi Nakato emerging as the heroine after scoring the decisive goal from the penalty spot in the 65th minute.

Nakato calmly converted past goalkeeper Sophia Burungi Nakkazi after Boni Consili defender Violet Nyakaiski was adjudged to have fouled Trinah Nakawuki inside the penalty area.
The goal came against the run of play, as Boni Consili had enjoyed long spells of dominance before the breakthrough, with Biiba Nenghamba, Jane Kabugho and Loyce Komugisha orchestrating their attacks.
However, Rines remained disciplined at the back, with goalkeeper Bridget Yuko Nansamba and the influential Nakato standing firm to frustrate Boni Consili’s attempts to find a way through.
Rines held on to their narrow advantage until the final whistle, securing their place in the championship match and keeping their hopes of adding the FEASSA title to their domestic crown alive.
Rines captain Justine Ayerango credited the victory to the team’s collective effort.

Rines will now wait for the winner of the second semifinal between Uganda’s Amus College School and Rwanda’s PSB Huye, with the winner earning a place in the final against the Ugandan champions.
