KITARA FC SIGN MISSI DIEGO SEMUGERA ON TWO-YEAR DEAL

Kitara FC continues to strengthen ahead of the 2026/27 season with the acquisition of midfielder Missi Diego Semugera.
The club has confirmed that Semugera has agreed to a two-year contract.
He joins the Royals after his three-year stint with SC Villa came to an end last month.
During his time at Villa, the midfielder made 67 appearances across three seasons and played a key role in helping the club end a 20-year title drought in the 2023/24 campaign.
Semugera is widely regarded as one of the most intelligent, consistent and physically strong holding midfielders in the Uganda Premier League. He is also no stranger to Hoima, having represented the Bunyoro Province football team.
Speaking to club media after his unveiling, the midfielder said:
“This is a new chapter for me and I’m excited that we’re going to compete on the continent with top teams. It’s a great opportunity to push myself further, and hopefully we achieve success together in the future.”
“I’ve been playing against some of my friends in past seasons, but now we’ll be teammates. I can’t wait to meet them and get started.”
Semugera brings a winning mentality and leadership to Kitara, having served as assistant captain of the Jogoos last season. Those qualities are expected to strengthen a midfield that already includes Hussein Ssenoga and Alex Emmanuel Wasswa.
He has previously turned out for Police FC and Lugazi Municipal FC. At Kitara, he joins Ghanaian defender Bonney Christopher, Jackson, and Martin Kizza, who were also unveiled by the club.
