Villa and Kitara Register Thrilling Wins in Uganda Premier League

Yesterday, two thrilling matches were played in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, with SC Villa and Kitara FC emerging victorious.

SC Villa Edges Past Police FC

At FUFA Kadiba Stadium, SC Villa hosted Police FC and secured a hard-fought 2-1 win.

Bedia Ikamba had given Police FC the lead in the 22nd minute, but new signing Godfrey Gaganga equalized for Villa in the 70th minute.

Substitute Lwanga Charles scored the winning goal in the 92nd minute, earning him the Man of the Match award.

This win marks SC Villa’s first of the season, and they now sit sixth on the table with four points from three matches. Police FC, on the other hand, remain fifth with five points from four matches.

Kitara FC Claims Dramatic Win Over Mbarara City

In the Western Derby, Kitara FC hosted Mbarara City FC at Royal Park Butema and claimed a thrilling 3-2 victory.

Isaac Amutuhaire and Jimmy Kalema had given Kitara FC a 2-0 lead within 16 minutes, but Mbarara City FC fought back. Innocent Wafula pulled one back for the visitors, and Henry Kitegenyi equalized after Mbarara City FC’s goalkeeper Emuran Fahad was sent off.

However, Gaddafi Wahab scored a penalty in the 91st minute to seal Kitara FC’s win.

This victory marks Kitara FC’s first of the season, and they now sit 10th on the table with four points from three matches.

Mbarara City FC remain winless, sitting 14th with two points from four matches .
