ALL SET FOR SECOND EDITION OF UPL PRE-SEASON FANS GALA
The wait is over. The second edition of the Uganda Premier League Pre-Season Fans Gala is set for this Saturday, August 15, at Kampala Rugby Grounds in Lugogo.
The one-day event returns after a successful inaugural edition last year at Kanyanya Express Ground, where SC Villa fans were crowned champions.
Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 a.m., with 10 club fan groups confirmed for what promises to be an action-packed day of football and fanfare.
Format
The 10 teams have been split into two groups. They will play 9-a-side mini-games of 25 minutes per half, with each team guaranteed four matches.
The winners of each group will progress to the semifinals. The losing semifinalists will then play a classification match to determine third place, before the final to crown the 2026 champions.
Prizes and Awards
The overall winners will walk away with gold medals and a trophy. Runners-up will receive silver medals, while third place will get bronze.
Individual accolades will also be handed out for MVP, Best Goalkeeper, Best Female Player, Top Scorer, and the Fair Play award.
With the UPL pre-season winding down, the Fans Gala offers supporters a chance to represent their clubs and set the tone ahead of the new season.
