Atlas Lions clinch 7 points from 3 games as Hakimi stars with goal + assist

Morocco booked their place in the 2026 World Cup Round of 32 with a chaotic 4-2 victory over Haiti in Group C, becoming the first African nation to reach the knockout stage in this tournament.

End-to-end thriller in Group C
Haiti stunned Morocco early. In the 10th minute, an own goal from goalkeeper Bono put the underdogs 1-0 up.

Morocco hit back on the stroke of halftime. Achraf Hakimi equalized in the 39th minute to level matters 1-1.

But Haiti weren’t done. Four minutes later, Isidor unleashed a long-range strike that caught Bono off guard, curling into the far corner to make it 2-1.

Morocco responded instantly. One minute into added time at the end of the first half, Hakimi’s cutback found Saibari unmarked and he slotted home. That’s Saibari’s 3rd goal of the tournament as Morocco went in 2-2.

The Atlas Lions took control after the break. In the 78th minute, Soufiane Rahimi put Morocco ahead 3-2. Then Gissime sealed it in the 90th minute with a tap-in to make it 4-2.
