After securing a 2-1 first-leg advantage over Mogadishu City Council on Sunday, September 6, Uganda’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup, Kitara FC, have released tickets for the return leg of the first preliminary round.

During a press briefing held at the Grand Imperial Hotel in Kampala, Kitara FC President Deo Kasozi Akiiki confirmed that tickets for the match scheduled for Saturday, September 12, are now on sale both at designated selling points and online.

“We appreciate our fans from across the entire country for supporting us in the first leg where we defeated Mogadishu City Council. We invite them to witness our return leg as we make history,” he said.

“During our 2-1 comeback win, the game was attended by 15,601 fans. For the return leg, we hope for more as we release tickets to the market. Our ordinary ticket is 20,000 UGX, the VIP ticket is 50,000 UGX, however, the early bird ticket is 15,000 UGX and it is only available physically from now until Wednesday evening.”

While rallying fans to show up in large numbers, he revealed, “We call upon our fantastic fans to support the club on its continental mission. CAF has allowed us to have up to 17,000 fans at Hoima City Stadium and we are aiming to fill it to capacity.”

Workaholic forward Jimmy Kalema scored twice on his debut in continental football to give Kitara FC their first continental win, with the club having made its debut in the 2024/2025 season when they played both of their games outside Uganda.

Kitara FC will progress to the next stage where they will face continental giants Al Ahly SC from Egypt if they eliminate Mogadishu City Council at this stage.
