Express FC will be looking to return to winning ways when they host Kitara FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, in their next Uganda Premier League encounter.
The Red Eagles come into the fixture with mixed results from their opening three league matches under head coach Morley Byekwaso. Express began their campaign with a 1-0 defeat to BUL FC, before responding with their first victory of the season, a 2-0 win over KCCA FC.
However, they were unable to build on that result, suffering a 2-0 defeat to SC Villa at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, leaving them with three points from three matches and sitting 10th on the table.

Express will therefore be aiming to bounce back in front of their home supporters and return to winning ways.Kitara FC, meanwhile, arrive in Kampala fresh from their CAF Confederation Cup assignment, having eliminated Mogadishu City Council to advance in the continental competition.
Their league campaign has so far produced a 1-1 draw against SC Villa at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku. That result gave Kitara one point from their opening league match, placing them 14th on the table.

This will be Kitara’s second Uganda Premier League match of the season, and they will be hoping to build momentum after their successful continental outing.A fixture with historyRecent meetings between the two sides have produced some memorable encounters.
The most recent meeting saw Express FC defeat Kitara FC 3-2 on May 12, 2026. Before that, Kitara had won the reverse fixture 1-0 on January 28, 2026.
The previous four meetings also show how competitive and at times unpredictable, this fixture has been. Kitara recorded a 1-0 win in May 2025, while Express had earlier won by the same scoreline.

Kitara also registered a commanding 7-0 victory over Express in December 2024, as well as a 2-1 victory in April 2024. Across the six meetings shown in the head-to-head record, Kitara have four wins while Express have two, with no draws recorded.
With both clubs needing points for different reasons, Thursday’s encounter at Hamz Stadium promises another intriguing encounter
