Emizanyo Soccer For Life Camp Equips Young Players With Life Beyond Football

The second edition of the Emizanyo Soccer For Life Camp has concluded at Enlight Vocational Institute in Matugga, leaving behind a group of inspired and empowered young players after three intensive days of learning both on and off the pitch.

Unlike the conventional football camps that focus solely on the game, this camp was built on a broader vision. Organizers brought together young boys and girls with one clear objective – to give them holistic knowledge that will serve them in football and in life.

For three days, the campus at Enlight became a hub of activity where football boots shared space with baking trays, computers, and first aid kits.

The camp was structured around three key pillars. The first was life skills and personal development, where players were taken through sessions on discipline, teamwork, communication, and how to handle pressure both as athletes and as young people growing up.

The second pillar focused on football development, with specialized coaches handling different departments including goalkeeping, fitness training, and general football knowledge to sharpen the players’ basic skills and tactical understanding of the game.

The third and most unique aspect was the introduction to technical and vocational skills alongside crucial off-pitch education. Participants were exposed to practical courses such as computing, bakery, and hairdressing, giving them a glimpse of alternative career paths that can support them alongside their football dreams.

They were also trained in First Aid and safeguarding policies, equipping them with essential knowledge on how to respond to injuries and how to protect themselves and their teammates within the sporting environment.

According to the organizers, the major objective was to gather these children in one place and provide them with departmental training from expert coaches, ensuring that each player leaves with more than just improved football skills but with enough knowledge to navigate life.

The three-day program was described as a success, with officials confident that the kids gained valuable skills and deeper understanding of the game.

Having successfully completed its second edition, focus now shifts to the future. Organizers have confirmed that the third edition of the Emizanyo Soccer For Life Camp is expected to be held in December, promising an even bigger and more impactful experience for the next group of young talents.
