Arsenal Fans UG Reach Hamz Cup Round Of 16 With Perfect Record
Arsenal Fans UG have become the first team to reach this year’s Hamz Cup knockout stage with maximum points.
The famous fan side sealed their place in the round of 16 after concluding the group stage in fine form. They were pooled with Nurmak Life Team, Supremacy, and La Prince.
To complete their perfect run, Arsenal Fans UG produced a 2-1 comeback win over the group’s strongest side, Nurmak Life Team. Eric Kibirango was the hero, scoring a brace in the 48th and 66th minutes. He was well supported in midfield, particularly by Patrick Muliika.
Nurmak, who boasted several big names and experienced coaches, had taken the lead in the first half through lanky forward Robert Ssewanya. He partnered Shafic Nyanzi up front, with other standout players including Ronnie Ziraba and Francis Ogwanga.
Earlier in the group, Arsenal Fans UG had defeated Supremacy 4-0 and La Prince 2-0.
After three group games, Kibirango now jointly leads the scoring charts with Brian Tumusiime Matu of Mutaasa Kafeero on 5 goals.
Arsenal Fans UG join Tororo Boys FC and Titans FC from Group A, Mutaasa Kafeero from Group B, Kafumbe United from Group C, Man U Fans UG from Group D, TikTok FC from Group E, Namutamba/Ndaiga from Group F, and Best of the Best and Life Team FC from Group H in the last 16.
