Uganda Cranes Defender Bevis Mugabi Joins Carlisle United

Carlisle United Football Club have confirmed the signing of Uganda Cranes defender Bevis Mugabi on a two year employment contract from Anorthosis Famagusta in Cyprus.

The 30 year old defender played 17 matches scoring two times for Cypriot side. Mugabi born in England spent his youth career at Fulham and Southampton and later joined Yeovil Town in 2016 where he played 102 matches, scoring 5 goals .

Bevis also featured for Scottish Premier League side Motherwell were spent over five years. At Motherwell Mugabi made 125 appearances and scoring 7 goals .

Head of Recruitment, Martin Foyle said:

“Bevis is an experienced defender and he is an excellent addition to the squad.

“He brings a wealth of experience from Scotland, abroad and international football, and he has a fantastic attitude which will help to drive the standards even higher on and off the pitch.”

At the national team Uganda Cranes Bevis Mugabi has so far played 20 matches.
