Vipers SC Land Nigerian Defender Princewill Tarabina

Vipers SC have bolstered their defense with the signing of Nigerian centre-back Princewill Biweribo Tarabina ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 23-year-old joins the Uganda Premier League champions on a two-year deal and becomes the latest addition to Denis Lavagne’s squad as the Venoms prepare for domestic and continental action.
From NPFL to St Mary’s Kitende
Tarabina moves to St Mary’s Stadium after an impressive stint with Plateau United in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Last season he featured 20 times, netting 2 goals and registering 2 assists from central defense.
Before Plateau, he spent 4 seasons at Bayelsa United where he matured into a commanding, physical defender with top-flight experience.
What Lavagne Says
Vipers head coach Denis Lavagne is delighted with the new signing:
“I’m pleased we’ve added Princewill to the squad. This is a great environment for him and I believe his game will keep growing.
He’s a young player but already has experience at a high level. Training every day with Hilary Mukundane, Kevin Dayslva and Nicholas Mwere will push him further.”
Tarabina’s First Words as a Venom
The defender is eager to get started and help Vipers retain their crown:
“I’m very happy to join the Vipers Sports Club family. I can’t wait to meet the players, staff and fans.
I know Vipers are champions in Uganda. Last season they won the league, and now we must defend it.
I’m also looking forward to working with Coach Lavagne. I’ve seen how much young players improve under him.”
Tarabina’s arrival fits Vipers’ recruitment plan of mixing local quality with top African talent.
He joins Loyce Mbaba, Nicholas Mwere, Jacques Mangoba, Joel Sserunjongi, Farouk Miya, with Cesar Manzoki also back at the club.
With the UPL title defense, Uganda Cup, and CAF Champions League ahead, Vipers will count on Tarabina’s aerial strength, aggression and composure to add depth to the backline.
