Betika Announces UGX 100 Million Partnership with Ntugasaze FC Ahead of UPL Debut

Kampala, Uganda – 19 August 2026 – Betting and entertainment brand Betika has announced a UGX 100 million partnership with newly promoted Uganda Premier League side Ntugasaze FC, in a deal aimed at supporting player recognition, fan engagement, and matchday initiatives throughout the 2026/27 season.
The partnership was officially unveiled earlier today at Kira Road Police Grounds, which will serve as Ntugasaze FC’s home venue for their inaugural top-flight campaign.
Founded in 2018, Ntugasaze FC has enjoyed a remarkable rise through Uganda’s football ranks. The club earned promotion to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after finishing second in the 2025/26 FUFA Big League with 53 points from 30 matches.

Betika selected the club in recognition of its rapid growth, ambitious leadership, and strong community roots.
“Sports is More Than Just an Activity” – Betika
Speaking at the unveiling, Desire Akanduhura, Marketing Lead at Betika Uganda, explained the rationale behind the partnership:
“Betika is a sports and entertainment brand, but of course betting is part of what we do. At Betika, sports is more than just an activity. It brings people and communities together and creates employment opportunities. As Betika, we look at sports as something we can use to impact communities.
Our journey in sports didn’t start with Ntugasaze FC. We have been in Uganda for over two years and we will be celebrating our second anniversary tomorrow. But today we are here to talk about Ntugasaze.
We understand what it takes to play the beautiful game of football and what it means to different communities out there. We are very glad and grateful to Ntugasaze FC for allowing us to be part of this journey.”
“The Vision and Progress Attracted Us” – Ntugasaze CEO
Ogwang Bob Brian, Chief Executive Officer of Ntugasaze FC, said the club was drawn to Betika’s track record of supporting football at different levels:

“We have followed Betika for some time. Like Desire said, we have seen what they have done in different communities, supporting clubs in the lower leagues and clubs that got promoted to the Big League, and supporting clubs in corporate leagues.
That vision and progress we see every day in the Betika brand is what attracted us. As a team with a clear vision of where we are and where we want to go, we had to go to Betika and ask for this marriage at the highest level. With Betika and according to our club history, we will bring a great experience to Ugandan football.
With Betika, we will be able to push each other. They are strong when it comes to branding, and we believe this is something Ugandan football needs. We expect growth. Both sides will benefit.”
When asked what fans should expect, Akanduhura added:
“This partnership is not just about us coming on board as a sponsor. We are here to make sure every stakeholder benefits. For the fans, we are going to create amazing experiences together. For players, we are going to roll out different initiatives. As Betika, we are here for the fans, the players, and the community at large.”

Club Leadership and Ambition
Yossam Ntegireje, Chairman of Ntugasaze FC, thanked Betika for the investment and eased pressure on the club’s management:
“We thank Betika for investing such a huge sum of money into Ntugasaze FC. As a club president, I am a bit relieved from the stress because we now have a new family in Betika. We really have strong support. As the Ntugasaze family, we appreciate you and you are most welcome.”
On the club’s longevity, the chairman assured supporters:
“Ntugasaze Football Club is here to stay. Whether am alive or not, the management is there to push the team. Ntugasaze is here to stay.”
Looking ahead, CEO Ogwang Bob Brian set an ambitious target for the club:
“In five years, we will be among the big clubs on the African continent.”
Key Details of the Partnership
As part of the deal, Betika will introduce a UGX 150,000 Player of the Match Award to recognize outstanding individual performances after every league fixture throughout the season.
“Ntugasaze is a young and ambitious club whose journey reflects what determination, good leadership and consistency can achieve,” said Desire Akanduhura. “As the club begins its first season in the Uganda Premier League, we are proud to support its next chapter. Our partnership goes beyond brand visibility. We want to contribute meaningfully to the club’s long-term growth while creating memorable experiences for players and supporters alike.”
“Reaching the Uganda Premier League is the result of years of hard work, belief and commitment from everyone who has been part of Ntugasaze FC’s journey,” said Ogwang Bob Brian. “Betika has recognized not only what we have achieved, but also where we are headed. Their support comes at a defining moment for the club as we begin our first season in Uganda’s top flight, and we look forward to building this journey together.”
