Mayanja’s First Minute Strike Sinks SC Villa.
In a thrilling encounter at Luzira Prisons Playground, Maroons FC edged out SC Villa 1-0, bringing an end to the latter’s seven-match unbeaten run in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Maroons FC attacking midfielder Ivan Mayanja was Voted the Man of the Match
The match, played earlier today, saw Maroons FC’s attacking midfielder Ivan Mayanja score a first-minute goal, assisted by Ogama Burden Mujayid. Mayanja’s well-directed header into the far corner proved to be the difference-maker, as Maroons FC collected three maximum points from the highly contested match.
Mayanja, who was on top of his game, was voted the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance. However, the match was not without controversy, as referee sent off two players – defender Geoffrey Lubangakane of SC Villa and goalkeeper Tamale Simon of Maroons FC – in the 39th minute for violent conduct.
Maroons FC’s win moves them to 8th on the table with 12 points, while SC Villa remains third with 17 points after nine matches.
