Kigezi HomeBoyz FC Honours Outstanding Performers at End-of-Season Awards

Kigezi HomeBoyz Football Club on Saturday, 6th June 2026, recognized and celebrated the outstanding contributions of its players and staff during the club’s End-of-Season Awards Ceremony held after the FUFA Big League fixture against CATDA FC at Kigezi HomeBoyz Al-Madinah Stadium.

Despite suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to CATDA FC on the day, the occasion remained a memorable one as the club celebrated a historic campaign that secured promotion to the Uganda Premier League for the first time in its history.

South Sudan international Abonga Dominic emerged as the biggest winner of the evening, claiming three major awards. Having joined the club in the second round of the season, the striker finished as the Top Scorer of the Season with seven goals. He also won the Fans’ Player of the Season award and was crowned the club’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).

John Okurut was named Goalkeeper of the Season after an impressive campaign marked by numerous clean sheets and crucial performances between the posts.

The Midfielder of the Season award went to Tumwesigye Enock, who enjoyed an outstanding season, contributing five goals and seven assists.

Ndagisimana Karim received the Macro Hardware Player of the Season award in recognition of his consistent performances throughout the campaign.

The Most Dedicated Player accolade was awarded to Ogwang Joel for his commitment, professionalism, and dedication to the club.

At the back, Mugweri Johny Rubi was honoured with the Iron Wall Award for his commanding defensive displays during the season.

Club captain Tukei James was recognized as Captain of the Season for his leadership both on and off the pitch.

The club also paid tribute to Tushabe Denis, the Technical Director, who received the Unsung Hero Award for his invaluable contribution behind the scenes.

Youngster Ainamaani Marvin, aged just 17, was named Emerging Talent of the Season, highlighting his promising future and impressive development during the campaign.

The awards ceremony concluded a remarkable season for Kigezi HomeBoyz FC, a campaign that saw the club achieve its long-awaited dream of earning promotion to the Uganda Premier League. The club now shifts its focus to preparations for the 2026/27 season as it gets ready to compete among Uganda’s top-flight teams.
