Kampala Regional League Club Mutungo FC Confirms Departure of 3 Key Players
With the football player transfer market in Uganda continuing until mid-September, Kampala Regional League club Mutungo FC has confirmed the departure of three key players.
The departures affect the defensive line, with two defenders, Patrick Mukuza and Pius Kwoyelo, leaving, while defensive midfielder Marvin Raymond Witaikire is the third departure.
All three have been long-term servants for the club and have occasionally captained the side, notably Mukuza, who has been at the club for more than four seasons.
Meanwhile, the biggest loss is center-back Kwoyelo, who has left for FUFA Big League side CATDA FC. Kwoyelo can also play in midfield.
Versatile defender Mukuza, who often featured at right-back, and Witaikire have both joined rival club Born Talent, following in the footsteps of winger Farouk Kaigwa and striker Tony Lwanga, who became more lethal after making the move last season.
With these departures, Mutungo FC continues to reshape its squad ahead of the upcoming season, which is expected to resume in mid-September. The club remains focused on chasing FUFA Big League promotion after its campaign collapsed in the 2025-2026 season.
