MARVIN KAVUMA PLEDGES LONG-TERM FUTURE TO NEC FC WITH NEW 5-YEAR DEAL

NEC FC have secured a huge boost with club captain Marvin Kavuma signing a new five-year contract that will keep him at the club until 2031.

The experienced forward has committed his future to the Diehards, extending a journey that has seen him grow with the club from its very beginning.

Kavuma has been central to NEC FC’s rise. Since joining in the formative years, he has captained the team through every major step — from the Kampala Regional League, to the FUFA Big League, and into the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

His leadership was key in 2025 when he led NEC FC to a historic first-ever qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.

Now with over 100 appearances in the club’s colors, Kavuma has cemented his place as one of NEC FC’s greatest servants. The new deal ensures the skipper will continue to lead the team both on and off the pitch as the club enters an ambitious new era.

Speaking after putting pen to paper, Kavuma said NEC FC has become family:

“NEC FC feels like home. I feel like I have a mother, a father, brothers and aunties. I have everyone I need in one place at NEC FC, and that’s why I decided to sign for five more years. Over the next five years, I want to win a trophy as captain and make my boss one of the proudest presidents in Ugandan club football.”

The forward featured 18 times in the 2025/26 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season, logging 841 minutes as he continued to lead by example.

Everyone at NEC FC congratulated Kavuma on the extension and looks forward to more memorable moments with their captain as the Diehards chase further success.
