CATDA FC Club President Explains Reason Behind Home Ground Switch to Hamz Stadium
FUFA Big League side CATDA FC have explained their decision to switch home ground from Bugoloobi Coffee Ground to Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo War Memorial Ground.
Club President Latif Dungu said the move is aimed at giving fans a better experience and improving the club’s revenue.
“We are set to host our games at a new home where we intend to give the best to our fans. We have faced challenges, but with the Hamz Stadium environment, we are going to ensure our fans receive good services,” Dungu said.
“We hope the stadium will increase our revenues in terms of gate collections because with good services, we believe we will attract massive turnouts,” he added.
CATDA FC started their football journey hosting games at Lufula Ground, Mirambo Playground Kitintale , Kamwokya playground before upgrading to Bugoloobi Coffee Ground. They have now switched to a better facility ahead of the 2026/27 FUFA Big League season.
Head Coach Richard Luyima confirmed that the club will maintain its old grounds for training purposes while also using the new stadium.
“With the information from my bosses, we are maintaining both Lufula and Bugoloobi Coffee grounds for training, although we will also have some days to train at Hamz Stadium,” Luyima said.
“We maintain these training grounds because most teams use natural turfs; we have to maintain that feel, while at the artificial turf, we seek superiority over our opponents who cannot afford the opportunity of such a good facility,” he added.
CATDA FC are continuing preparations for the new Big League season as they aim to secure promotion to the Uganda Premier League after fighting to avoid relegation in their debut season.
