Akright City 5-4 Parkview FC
Block F 3-0 Namutamba Ndaiga
Hamz Cup excitement continued, with two games producing four hat tricks and a total of 12 goals scored, averaging a high of 6 per game.
In the first game at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo War Memorial Grounds, on August 20, there were two hat tricks scored as Akright City beat Parkview FC 5-4.
Akright City’s composed forward, Bright Adoa, reached the milestone first in the 55th minute of play before making it a quadruple in the 70th minute.
Kenneth Mukwaya also completed his hat trick in the 83rd minute as he scored the last goal of the game with a lob over the Akright City backline, including the goalkeeper.
Regarding the other goals, Davis Zinda opened the scoresheet for Akright City, while Sudais Seruuma scored Parkview’s first goal.
After a high-scoring game that started at 4:00 p.m., Block F entertained the visitors from Namutamba, Mityana, and the game ended 3-0.
The hat trick came from target man Hassan Ssekandi, while the on-fire Godfrey Ssenyonga delivered an outstanding performance as a playmaker, providing assists for all goals.
Namutamba/Ndaiga FC started the game equal to the challenge, with captain Saul Kityo and Emmanuel Nkuusi playing fearlessly under coach Demas Kisakye.
However, they began to tire when Ssekandi found the back of the net with a thunderous finish at the half-hour mark.
After the goal, Namutamba/Ndaiga continued to play with resilience, and the game reached the halftime break at 1-0.
Returning for the second half, Block F coach Hamza Lutalo seized the game-changing baton when he introduced midfield dynamo Owen Rushongeza for Ivan Mutebi.
Getting into the rhythm of the game with Rushongeza partnering alongside Moses Mukisa, they managed to stifle Namutamba/Ndaiga captain Saul Kityo, who was bossing the middle of the park.
After securing game control, Block F ticked off the patterns involving left-back Sulaiman Mutyaba and Godfrey Ssenyonga, and the silky playmaker found two opportunities for Ssekandi, who scored two headers in those moments.
Later, both teams progressed to the round of 16, while Akright City and Parkview had their journeys stopped, and Kenneth Mukwaya also saw his campaign end as the top scorer with 7 goals, including two hat tricks in three games
