Ivan Ahimbisibwe Completes Move to Iraq’s Zakho SC on Two-Year Deal

Ugandan forward Ivan Ahimbisibwe has completed a move to Iraq Stars League side Zakho SC, signing a two-year contract after leaving KCCA FC. The switch takes the 2025-26 StarTimes Uganda Premier League top scorer to the Kurdistan region, where he will link up with an ambitious Zakho outfit.

Ahimbisibwe arrives in Iraq off the back of a prolific season in Uganda. He finished as the league’s top scorer with 14 goals for KCCA FC in 2025-26, a campaign that followed a 16-goal haul for URA FC the season before. His form also earned him a place in the Uganda Cranes squad for the most recent CHAN tournament, underlining his status as one of the country’s in-form attackers.

He joins a club with growing foreign influence. Nicknamed the ‘Sons of Khabur’, Zakho SC was founded in 1987 and is based in the city of Zakho. Ahimbisibwe will arrive alongside South African midfielder Sipho Mbule and Ghanaian forward Moses Abbey as the club strengthens its foreign contingent ahead of the new season.
