Edward Kasibante Set To Join New UPL Entrants
Police Football club goalkeeper Edward Kasibante is on the verge of Joining New Uganda Premier League entrants Ntugasaze Football Club
Sources close to the negotiations confirm that talks are advanced and the former Uganda Cubs shot-stopper is expected to put pen to paper in the coming days. If finalized, Kasibante will become Ntugasaze’s second acquisition of the offseason after forward Jimmy Ndalambi, who made the switch to the Brewers from FUFA Big League side Kiyinda Boys FC earlier this window.
Kasibante, brings a mix of top-flight experience and proven resilience to Kavumba. He came through the ranks with SC Victoria University and earned Uganda U17 recognition before making Kataka FC his home for six years. His performances at Mbale-based Kataka established him as one of the Big League’s most consistent goalkeepers, which earned him a move to Police FC in the UPL. At Police, he competed for minutes in a crowded goalkeeping department but remained a reliable option when called upon.
For Ntugasaze, the move addresses a key priority as they prepare for life in the Uganda Premier League. The Brewers earned promotion from the FUFA Big League with Kenneth Lukyamuzi and Afoyo sharing duties last season, but the technical bench is keen to add more depth and competition ahead of a demanding UPL campaign. Kasibante’s shot-stopping, command of his area, and experience against UPL attackers are expected to strengthen that department immediately.
Ntugasaze have signaled intent to build a squad capable of surviving and competing in their debut top-flight season, and securing a goalkeeper of Kasibante’s profile early is a statement of that ambition. With Ndalambi already in and Kasibante expected to follow, the Brewers are moving quickly to lay the foundation before preseason ramps up.
