Kigezi HomeBoyz Eye Former Bright Stars Left-Back After Relegation Exit

New Uganda Premier League side Kigezi HomeBoyz FC are moving to bolster their backline with former Soltilo Bright Stars left-back Paskali Oketch.

Oketch Parts Ways With Bright Stars
Oketch confirmed his exit from Soltilo Bright Stars FC yesterday with an emotional farewell post.

“Appreciation goes to the CEO of the club, my teammates and my coaches πŸ™πŸ™ I thank everyone who trusted me and gave me that opportunity to play for the club πŸ«‚ I’m humbled πŸ™πŸ™
I wish the club the best in the future. Forever in my heart πŸ™ Big thanks,” Oketch wrote.

Bright Stars were relegated from the FUFA Big League to the Regional League at the end of last season.

Reunion With Mutyaba At Kigezi
Kigezi HomeBoyz have shown interest in the defender as they prepare for life in the top flight.

The move would reunite Oketch with Joseph Mutyaba, Kigezi’s head coach. Mutyaba previously worked with the left-back during their time together at Soltilo Bright Stars.

With Premier League football confirmed, Kigezi HomeBoyz are targeting experienced Big League players. Adding Oketch would bring UPL-ready depth at left-back and a player who already knows the coach’s system.

A deal is yet to be announced, but talks are understood to be underway.
