Under the umbrella of Union Transport, the sports promotion wing officially unveiled 32 boxing athletes on October 12, 2026, ahead of the anticipated “Battle for Glory ONE” event at Club Obligato in Kampala.
“As a sports promotion, we have extended our reach to professional boxing,” Mulyowa stated. “We already have a football club, and now we are expanding into combat sports. Our aim is to support local youth and improve their livelihoods through athletics while creating platforms to engage with the communities we serve through our transport network.”
He added that the Saturday event will combine competitive bout cards with live musical entertainment and community engagement.
Mugambe and Kisakye Headline Main Event
The high-octane fight night will be headlined by a Super Featherweight main event between Shakur Mugambe and Ivan Kisakye.
Mugambe, popularly known as Top Boy, expressed strong confidence in securing a early stoppage:
“It has been a long time without me stepping inside the ring, but I am back,” Mugambe declared. “I am going to execute it the way I used to do, and my opponent will fall in the second round.”
Kisakye swiftly dismissed his rival’s prediction, promising a show-stopping performance for his fans:
“I have heard his comments, but he will not manage me,” Kisakye countered. “I will be in the ring to give fans the deserving entertainment. I have been preparing thoroughly and I will defeat him.”
