From the tough start for Uganda’s representatives at FEASSA 2026 Cricket Competition happened at SUA Academy Ground on 14th August, Friday. to day the actions returns as Busoga College Mwiri and Sacred Heart Gulu seek to bounce back.
On day one, Busoga College Mwiri and Sacred Heart Secondary School Gulu both suffered on the opening at the hands of their Tanzanian hosts.
Masechu outmuscle Mwiri in boy’s high-scoring opener which ended as Busoga College Mwiri (UG) getting defeated by 24-run to Masechu (TZ) side.
In the begining Masechu Won the toss and vote to bat an opportunity they utilized well by setting up a formidable figur of 151/6 in 20 overs as lea Johnson David leading the cause with 59 runs off 44 balls.
Mwiri college face horror in the early overs but skipper Jordan Okecho (2/22) and Okoth Joel (2/27) who produced in a help to district Mosechu in late overs.
Chasing after the inning break, Mwiri’s was at counter setting up 49/3 by the 8th over lying with batting Top-order contribution, Luyuyo Isabariye (20) and Martin Kisubi (18), in the end Joel Okoth superbly top-scored the failed misdion 35 off 29 balls.

The Nother Uganda School Elected to bat first after winning the toss but struggled against Tanzanian’s bowling, they were bowled out at 18.3 overs with just 78 runs for 111 balls.
Skipper Amono Nyero anchored the innings with 24 off 38 while Lakica Okema contributed a vital 13. However in bawling Winfrida Mohamed led the Tanzanian School with 3/12.
Despite defending the low score Ugandan girls tried their best in the fight with Dorothy Diana Angwech (1/11) and Hanifa Noreen (1/16) keeping the hope tight, the team continued from Petra Akidi (1/23) and Lakica Okema (1/5) kept the game on a knife-edge.
However, a quickfire 29 off 21 balls from Morogoro skipper Lightness Yona tilted the scales, allowing the hosts to reach 80/6 in 14.3 overs and seal the win.
Both teams return to the SUA Academy Ground today for crucial second-round matchups, looking to turn their campaign around.
