Rubaga Wins Inaugural Kampala Region Referees Inter DFA Tournament.

Rubaga Referees have won the inaugural Kampala Region Referees Inter DFA Tournament following their 5-1 win over Kawempe.

Bantu Balamu gave Rubaga an early lead in the 15th minute before Ozitile doubled their lead three minutes later.

The trophy officially handed over to Rubaga captain Mazima Oscar .

Oscar Mazima extended Rubaga’s lead in the 24th minute. Ozitile completed his brace 10 minutes after the restart of second stanza.

15 minutes later Rubaga got their 5th goal of the day while Kawempe’s goal was scored by goalkeeper jingo in the 80th minute from a spot kick.

Sande Robert Ogwokutho netted a Haul as Makindye whitewashed Nakawa 7-2 . substitute Katende also netted a brace while Kigozi Gonza netted one goal for Makindye.

Coach Alex Mugisha & Michael Kalule’s side Rubaga emerged as the champions of the inaugural Kampala Regional Referees Inter DFA Tournament where four DFA competed

Assistant coach Rubaga -Alex Mugisha doubles as a statistician at Startimes Uganda Premier league side Kitara Football Club.

Rubaga accumulated the most number of points ( 14) in six matches finishing the tournament unbeaten.

Makindye Referees

Makindye finished second with 12 points unbeaten in six matches.

Nakawa finished 3rd on board with 7 points after six matches.

Nakawa Referees

Coach Anna Akoyi’s side Kawempe finished on the bottom of the table failing to collect a single point in six outings.

Mark Ssonko (Chairperson): Congratulated all teams and specifically thanked the Buganda Region referees for their work, acknowledging the learning experience and unity the tournament brought.
