Bugolobi, Kampala– Uganda Premier League side NEC FC have completed the signing of attacking midfielder Enock Tumwesigye from Kigezi Homeboyz FC on a two-year employment contract.

The move sees NEC return to the Kigezi Homeboyz market 12 months after landing Charles Moses Waibi and Joseph Seremba from Kabale. Waibi’s stint was brief before a switch to Kenya’s Nairobi United FC, but Seremba became an instant hit and earned a place in the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League Team of the Season.

Tumwesigye was Kigezi Homeboyz’s standout in the 2024/25 Big League campaign. The 2025-26 club Best Midfielder finished with 6 goals and 7 assists, and his creativity was central to Homeboyz securing promotion to the UPL.

The Isingiro native joined Kigezi Homeboyz in February 2025 on a two-year deal from Kaaro Karungi FC. Comfortable with both feet and able to operate across midfield, the former Kaaro Karungi captain quickly established himself as one of the region’s most dangerous attacking midfielders.

He began his career in the Ankole District Tournament, where he scored freely for Omukashansha, Kabugu, in Kabuyanda Sub-county, Isingiro West. He also had a spell with Nyamitobora FC earlier in his career.

NEC will hope Tumwesigye can follow Seremba’s path and become another midfield gem to come out of Kabale.
