UPL Fans’ Meet Up Gala 2nd Edition: Celebrating Unity, Passion, and Ugandan Football Culture.

The Uganda Premier League Fans’ Meet Up is more than just a gathering — it is a movement that brings together supporters from across the country under one common love: Ugandan football. Built on the idea that rivalries should end at the final whistle, the UPL Fans’ Meet Up Gala was created to celebrate, unite, and strengthen the bond between fans of all UPL clubs.

After a successful inaugural edition, the second edition promises to be even bigger, louder, and more memorable, with supporters set to converge at Buloba Sports Arena near Forest Park Resort on 31st May 2026.

The UPL Fans’ Meet Up is an organization dedicated to uniting all Uganda Premier League supporters, regardless of the badges they wear or the colors they chant for. While match days often divide fans into opposing ends of the stadium, the Gala offers a rare chance to come together off the pitch.

Through epic meet-ups, lively football debates, friendly competitions, and shared experiences, the event turns rival supporters into one family. It’s about building relationships that last beyond 90 minutes and creating unforgettable memories that define Uganda’s football culture.

Despite supporting different teams, fans at the Gala get a unique opportunity to network, build friendships, and exchange ideas that grow the local game. The event promotes unity and sportsmanship, reminding everyone that passion for football is what truly connects us.

It also encourages physical activity and wellness, as supporters take part in friendly matches and sports activities alongside the main celebrations. Beyond football, the Gala brings together people from different backgrounds and professions, opening doors for collaborations, partnerships, and community projects. For many, it’s a chance to meet the faces behind the chants and social media handles, turning online banter into real-life camaraderie.

The group also embraces diversity in sport. While the Uganda Premier League remains the heartbeat of the Gala, supporters and participants from several other sports disciplines are part of the community, making it a true celebration of Uganda’s wider sporting culture. This inclusive approach helps grow the fanbase for local sport and strengthens the ecosystem that players, clubs, and administrators rely on.

The first edition of the UPL Fans’ Meet Up Gala set a high bar, with Team Gad emerging as champions after a day filled with competition, laughter, and unity. That success laid the foundation for what is now becoming a tradition in the Ugandan football calendar. The second edition, slated for 31st May 2026 at Buloba Sports Arena near Forest Park Resort, is expected to attract an even bigger turnout and more fan groups.

So far, six teams have confirmed their participation: Team Princess/Noldine, Team Juma/Kemi, Team Mutesi/Lulu, Team Pesper/Mark, Team Keren/Kyengera, and Team Kasozi. Each team brings its own flair, fan base, and competitive spirit, promising a day of entertaining football, bragging rights, and shared pride in the UPL.

The UPL Fans’ Meet Up Gala 2nd Edition is more than a tournament , it’s a statement that Ugandan football is strongest when its fans stand together. It breaks down the barriers of club rivalry and replaces them with mutual respect, networking, and collective celebration of the game we all love.

For supporters, it’s a chance to keep fit, make connections, and create stories that will be told long after the final whistle. As the countdown to 31st May 2026 begins, one thing is clear: in Ugandan football, the fans are not just spectators ,they are the heartbeat of the game.
