Excitement Builds at Lugogo as KCCA FC Set to Bring Back Night Football

Excitement is building around Lugogo with KCCA FC set to bring night football back to MTN Omondi Stadium before the end of September.

According to communication from the club’s official channels, KCCA’s upcoming Uganda Premier League home fixture against UPDF FC is expected to be played under floodlights, signalling a possible return of evening football to Lugogo.

Night matches at MTN Omondi Stadium had been put on hold after a FUFA stadium inspection team raised concerns over the quality and positioning of the floodlights. The lights were subsequently required to be adjusted before the venue could host competitive matches at night.

KCCA FC has since been working to address the issues, with the club putting in the necessary effort to ensure the floodlights meet the required standards.

If cleared, the UPDF fixture will provide the first opportunity for supporters and football lovers to experience the unique atmosphere of night football at Lugogo since the beginning of the new season.

The return of floodlit football is expected to add a new dimension to the matchday experience, with supporters able to enjoy an evening under the lights while KCCA FC look to make MTN Omondi Stadium a vibrant home once again.

For the fans and revellers around Lugogo, the prospect of night football is more than just a change in kick off time, it is the return of an experience that has been sorely missed.
