Entebbe UPPC Came From Behind To Edge Ntugasaze FC

Entebbe UPPC produced a stunning second-half comeback to defeat Ntugasaze FC 3-1 on Thursday at Kira Police Arena, as hat-trick hero Ambrose Kigozi inspired the visitors to a crucial away victory and lifted his side into the top three of the Uganda Premier League.

It was the hosts who took the lead first through their agile forward Kennedy Muserero, who was assisted by Jerome Otim in the 26th minute to give Ntugasaze a half-time lead.

It was Muserero’s second goal in three games for Ntugasaze, with the loanee from KCCA FC continuing to impress since joining the club, but his early strike would count for nothing in the end as Entebbe UPPC turned the game on its head after the break.

Ten minutes after the restart, Entebbe UPPC equalised through Ambrose Kigozi, who was assisted by Julius Poloto, to silence the home crowd and shift the momentum in favour of the visitors. Kigozi was on target again in the 75th minute, still assisted by Poloto, before sealing Entebbe UPPC’s victory just two minutes later with his third goal of the day to complete a remarkable hat-trick and cap off a brilliant individual performance.

Kigozi became the third player to score a hat-trick this season in the Uganda Premier League after Derrick Byachwezi and Usama Arafat, taking his goal tally to four goals this season. Entebbe UPPC now move up to third on the table with 19 points from 10 matches, while Ntugasaze remain in the relegation zone, 16th on the table with just four points. Ntugasaze will visit in-form Sam Ssimbwa’s URA FC on November 20th, while Entebbe UPPC will return to action on November 19th at home against Kataka FC.
